TONIGHT (Thursday) is the night when a new musical fraternity
takes its first 'group hug' I with the launch of an open floor
acoustic session in Hitchin.
The Spa Bar on Queen Street is providing. the stage for any
acoustic performer/ duo who fancy 10 minutes or so in the
spotlight.
The Open Acoustic Nights, the brainchild of Letchworth singer/songwriter
Donna McKay, will take place every Thursday and will be run
along similar lines to the popular Doctor's Tonic sessions
over in Welwyn Garden City.
And Donna, who is making waves on the local scene with her
own sassy tunes, hopes the sessions will nurture some great
local talent.
Acts are already being sought to headline the evenings as
special guests, while anyone who plays guitar, fiddle, harmonica
etc, or who generally just fancies opining into a microphone,
is encouraged to come along.
Music starts froth 8pm but get there earlier to be sure of
a spot. Call Donna on 07977 769517 for more info.
Not to be outdone, The Place in Letchworth has just launched
an open floor night for local singer/songwriters, with invited
guests to alternate from September.
Further details from wwwacoustic-expression.org.uk or if
that's not yet up and running, then call The Place on 01462
670788.
