Donna's a girl in heaven

H E A V E N , according to one Belinda Carlisle is a place on earth, but for one Norlh Herts songstress, it's name of her new band.

Donna Mackay has been writing songs for many a year. but previously contented herself with demoing them with just her smooth voice and precision acoustic guitar playing for company A CD of about a dozen of her tunes found its way into the earshot of a trio musicians who swiftly agreed to provide rhythm and electric guitar accompaniment.

Now Donna, a native of the North East, is confident she's heading for the stars.

Last veek, Heaven played [he popular West One Four club in London's West Kensington. and there are already plans to play venues in Norm Herts over the coming weeks.

The band have recorded a three track CD which gives a flavour of the wistful melodies, acoustic strumming and rock solid backing which should strike a chord among a generation turning in droves to the earthly concerns of the likes of chart sensation Dido.
